And it definitely shows! I am obviously not proud about my effort, but there are two reasons, why I found it useful and worthwhile analysing this game. Firstly, being so rusty, I tried to make some sense of my own thought processes during the game. Without the pressure of the clock and being relaxed at home. And secondly, I was pleasantly (not really during the game!) surprised to see how well and logically Jonathon did tackle his various problems. Especially considering his rating..} 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 d6 6.Be2 e6 7.O-O a6 8.f4 Qb6 9.Be3 Qxb2 10.Qd2 Qa3 11.Nxc6 bxc6 12.Rab1 c5? {Very bad, as I should have made an escape for my queen via 12...d5. Although this still would loose a pawn for no compensation: 13.Rb3, Qa5; 14.Nxd5!, Qxd2; 15. Nxf6 and 16.Bxd2} 13.e5! {Strong move.} dxe5 14.fxe5 Nd7 15.Bg5 h6?? {I am 'blissfully' unaware of any danger. Fortunately (for now) Jonathon missed the chance to trap my queen: 16.Rb3, Qa5; 17.Nd5!.. with the threat of 18.Nc7 mate.} 16.Bh5 {(?)} hxg5 17.Bxf7+ Kd8 18.Bxe6 Ra7? {My last chance and final blunder.18..c4 was the only reasonable alternative for me to have a fighting chance.} 19.Rf7 {19.Rxf8!, Rxf8; 20. Qxg5, Rf6 (Fritz) etc would have been a more direct win, but Jonathan's advantage is still considerable. However,..} Be7? {again 19... c4 could have prolonged the game a bit longer. Now, white finishes the game nicely..} 20.Rxe7 Kxe7 21.Qd6+ Kd8 22.Nd5 Re8 23.Bxd7 {#r}
