Lightning #4 goes to Jamie Brotheridge |
Jamie won 6 out of 7 games to clinch the top place in the evening round robin event beaten only by Tim Commons which was a surprise. Patrick Cook gained revenge on Tim for the previous week by defeating him and denying him equal first place with Jamie. This was a good, well contested tournament.
Congratulations Jamie.

2008 Club Champion Defeated! |
Patrick Cook is Defeated. 5 times no less by TIm Commons.
Patrick goes home with his tail between his legs and Tim flies home.
Please note this was a night of unoffical 5-minute social chess in which lightning struck Pat over and over and over. He lived to tell the story though. Tim had only beaten Pat twice before in any form of chess in about 7 years before this evening and as such everyone present was suitably bemused by the obvious shenanigans.
